An inspired first half display by the Hurricanes led to a 25-20 win over the Stormers at Westpac Stadium tonight.

The home side scored all 25 points in the first half including a Beauden Barrett try just before the break in a move that started inside their own 22 metre line.

The Stormers hit their straps in the second with two tries, one a penalty try for repeated scrum infringements.

But the Hurricanes held on to make it seven wins from seven matches which equals the longest streak in franchise history.

The last time seven match winning streak came back in 2003.

For the Stormers, they have now lost their last five games on New Zealand soil which they have not done since 1998.
