Nehe Milner-Skudder will get his first start with the Hurricanes at fullback against the Blues in Palmerston North on Friday evening while wing Cory Jane has been rested for the match.

Jane has been replaced by Matt Proctor and James Marshall will be the outside backs replacement leaving no room for Jason Woodward in the side.

Other changes for the Hurricanes since beating the Force in Perth a fortnight ago sees TJ Perenara back at halfback while Chris Smylie moves back to the bench and captain Conrad Smith comes back in at centre in place of Rey Lee-Lo.

Under fire Blues coach John Kirwan has also named his side with rookie wing Melani Nanai starting on the wing and Brendon O'Connor getting a start on the flank in place of the injured Jerome Kaino.

Hooker James Parsons will also start the game at the expense of Keven Mealamu.
