The worst time for a Hurricanes bye

  • The worst time for a Hurricanes bye

I have to say that I fear the worst with the Hurricanes having a bye this weekend.

Why you ask?

Simple, when was the last time you can remember the Hurricanes winning three matches on the trot let alone the first three of a new season and all away from home?

The side has had its best start to a Super Rugby season in recent memory and so the last thing they need is a week off to kill the momentum.

We are all hoping that is not the case come next week when the side takes on the hapless Blues in Palmerston North.

The Blues have not got a win this season and so this could be one of those times we all ask "what happened?".

In saying all of this, I sincerely hope it is not the case and that the week off does the side good.

It has been a torturous opening to a campaign with two games in South Africa followed by the win in Perth last weekend and the players will be tired.

A week off could be just what is needed.

We shall see.
