The All Blacks side to face Argentina will being looking even more thin when it is named later today with the announcement that Hurricanes hooker Dane Coles is on a plane home for the birth of his first child.
The announcement was somewhat of a surprise with the birth predicted to be after the Argentina/South Africa leg of The Rugby Championship. Blues rake Keven Mealamu will likely get the start with rookie Chiefs hooker Nathan Harris on the bench.
Coles's withdrawal is another big loss to the side after first five-eighth Aaron Cruden missed the flight earlier this week after a night out drinking. He has been suspended by team management for this match and next weekend's game against South Africa. Experienced midfielder Ma'a Nonu is also out with a broken arm leaving a distinctly raw looking inside pairing in the All Blacks backline with Malakai Fekitoa set to start at second five-eighth.
The big question is, can the All Blacks still get a win in Argentina without Coles and Cruden?
