  • Canes Barrett gets first start as AB's pivot

Hurricanes pivot Beauden Barrett has been given his first start for the All Blacks at first five-eighth this weekend against Argentina after incumbent Aaron Cruden was ruled out with injury.

Barrett has previously started for the All Blacks on two other occasions but that was at fullback. Other Hurricanes players to make the 22 are hooker Dane Coles, wing Julian Savea and centre Conrad Smith. Canes wing Cory Jane gets a rest as Israel Dagg gets another chance to impress.

Another Hurricanes player in Jeremy Thrush gets a run off the bench in place of Steven Luatua.
