Game of the Year - vs. Chiefs (1st round)
There are a couple of possibilities here including a huge win over the Crusaders in round one but it was the 45-8 win over the two-time defending champion Chiefs a couple of weeks later that takes the cake. Just a stunning performance.
Forward of the Year - Jack Lam
Loose forward partners Fafili Levave and Victor Vito both had solid seasons as did lock Jeremy Thrush but none was more consistent and gave more for the cause this year than Lam.
Back of the Year - Alapati Leiua
Let's face it, if Leiua didn't score the match winner against the Crusaders and then plug the huge whole a second five-eighth, the Hurricanes would have struggled. First five-eighth Beauden Barrett had another good season and Andre Taylor rediscovered some form too. Julian Savea on the wing also needs consideration.
Breakout Season - Reggie Goodes
Prop Goodes was just awesome especially with ball in hand. He provided impact of the bench and none was more enthusiastic. His best season by far. Outside back Matt Proctor also deserves a mention here.
Rookie of the Year - Adam Hill
The flanker had four matches for the Hurricanes late in the season and was solid in all four outings. Prop Chris Eves was also in the running with nine solid performances.
Player of the Year - Jack Lam
It's a pity the dynamic openside is leaving for Bristol after a masterful season. He deservedly kept the much talked about Ardie Savea out of the number 7 jersey and will be a huge loss for the side in 2015.
