A Wellington rugby fan favourite in Ma'a Nonu will return to the Hurricanes two years after being let go by then new coach Mark Hammett. Nonu was one of a number of high profile players axed by Hammett with others that included Andrew Hore and Piri Weepu.
Although not official as yet, Nonu has stated his intention to be closer to his young family in Wellington after having to go back and forth between Dunedin, Auckland and Wellington over the past couple of years.
Nonu will add some much needed stability and fire-power in the midfield after injuries to Conrad Smith and Alapati Leiua exposed a lack of depth in that area. Leiua has taken up a contract in the UK for 2015 so won't be back and Tim Bateman has been less than impressive this season.
News that Beauden Barrett has elected to stay in Wellington instead of moving to the Blues next year will also make incoming coach Chris Boyd breathe a little easier too.
What do you think of Noun's return to the Hurricanes?
